Lego Land

This summer our family vacation was a surprise for Landon.  While Nick and I packed up the car Landon got it in his head that we were going for a picnic, so Nick and I went with it.

We drove all night to California and in the morning Landon STILL thought we were going for picnic. That is until we drove up to LEGOLAND!!!

He had seen a commercial for the park right before we got there, so when he saw the slide for the water park he knew exactly where we were going!

This trip the Kammeyers came along with us!!! Here is Landon, Jordan, Lego guy, and Kierstin.

The kids had all kinds of fun playing on the Lego playground that was ment for the little kids.

But who could pass up all this fun?!

Landon even was able to drive his own Lego car! And after received his own Lego license!

Delaney had to watch the bigger kids drive the cars. She is still too little. Maybe next time!

There were Lego planes!

And Lego boats!

And a Lego horse! Oh my!

The big kids may have been able to ride a few rides that Landon was too little for but that's ok. He and Josalyn had a sword fight to the death!!!

My favorite part was the Lego cities! The Lego Masters have recreated multiple miniture cities from around the United States!! The detail is unbelievable.

San Francisco

Las Vegas
New York City
Washington D.C.

Giant Albert Einstein

They even had a place to build a race car and track to race it against other kids!

Over all I think the kids (and Nick) had a blast at Lego Land!!!

Proud to be an American

Happy Birthday America!!

Nick has recently taken up cake decorating! He worked ALL. DAY. on this cake for the Fourth of July! And let me tell you it was YUMMY!!!

We of course played our favorite game Apples to Apples!!

When it was fireworks time we went outside to watch what we could from the street (which wasn't much). Fourth of July just isn't the same without GCC fireworks and Kentucy Fried Chicken!!

Father's Day

One of my favorite "holidays" is celebrating my favorite guy!

In past years it has been difficult keeping Nick's gifts a secret if Landon knows what they are ahead of time. He has a tendency to blurt it out before he opens the gift. But this year he was REALLY good!! He didn't let out a peep about what his gifts were this year!! I'm so proud!

And the best party is Nick was surprised!
Landon had a couple gifts for Nick this year. At preschool they made frames and the teachers took pictures of the kids dressed as "dad"s! It's a super cute picture and hangs on our fridge.
His other gift for Nick was the plane that he painted himself at As You Wish! This sits on Nick's desk at work. He loved it!
I always get Nick a gift too and this year I got him the Lego Fire Brigade that he has been drooling over for months!

Overall I think it was good Father's Day!

As You Wish!

A few weeks before Father's Day Josalyn & I took Kierstin and Landon to As You Wish to make something special for their fathers.

Landon chose an airplane.

And Kierstin a trophy.

They each decorated and painted their items themselves.

When they were done the shop fires and seals their masterpieces. Landon was a little disappointed that he was not able to take it home with him. But he was REALLY good about not telling his dad about what he did. And was able to keep his secret from Nick until Father's Day.

Some Day You'll Ask for His Autograph!

Along with swim class, Landon also had soccer lessons this summer.

Because he had to go back to Missouri for half the summer he was only able to attend 3 of the 6 classes. But, he LOVED every single class!

He was suprisingly pretty good! He always kept good control of the ball and even listened pretty good.

He needs to learn about sportsmanshop though. He would do a "Nanny-nanny-boo-boo" to the kids that he was able to block their goal. But he'll learn.

The kids loved the parachute game that they played. Lifting up the parachute and running underneath it!

Making a goal!! SCORE!

I'm hoping next summer to sign him up again for soccer and hopefully he can attend ALL the classes. The best part of soccer was that it was INSIDE!!

AWESOME!
